History of the Establishment

Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang is committed to constantly improving its learning quality. One of the commitments is responding to the future demands of the stakeholders and all the factors affecting the learning objectives in higher education through various policies. UMM’s policy to generate high-quality graduates is known as UMM PASTI (on-time graduation and guaranteed career). To achieve such goals, UMM has stipulated a policy regarding equivalency by assessing students’ Past Experience Recognition (RPL) and designed an innovative learning model. In addition, before the era of Covid-19, UMM established a policy regarding blended learning which will be the basis of technology-based learning using a Learning Management System accessible on lms.umm.ac.id. UMM PASTI program is relevant to the policy of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), which demands flexibility of the curriculum by higher education.

Regarding the objectives of UMM PASTI, on November 25, 2019, the Learning Innovation Institution (LIP) was established. It continuously facilitates the development of learning quality at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.
